How to Repair Connective Tissue Damage with the MELT Method

Sue Hitzmann, the creator of MELT method and an exercise expert says that the method is about self-treatment techniques that people can use to ease their pain. She says that the method focuses on some part of the human body, and this eliminate the pain that you are feeling.

Connective tissues are made up entirely of collagen and water and if you are going to use them repetitively, you are going to dehydrate it; that is the beginning of pain and stiffness.

There are “four R’s” in the MELT method and you should know them, by heart. They are reconnect, rebalance, rehydrate and release.

  1. Reconnect – There are techniques that you should know about to be able to have a functional body. The program is about learning to know the cause of the pain. An example is when you lie flat on the floor to learn more about yourself and your relation to the floor.
  2. Rebalance – We are prone to stress because of the thing that we do daily. With MELT, we are able to “quiet the stress reflexes in the nervous system and get the regulators of stability and repair back on track,” Hitzmann said. This can be done through different stretching techniques.
  3. Rehydrate – The connective tissue of the muscle was in the liquid state before, but it got changed into a solid state because of too much tension. With MELT, we can bring it back to a fluid state. Using soft rollers and balls, this can be done as both can be used like a sponge. Hitzmann says that it would help the tissue to go back to its fluid state.
  4. Release – The last thing that you should do to make it even more effective is to release it. The primary joints should be release and decompress. These include the hands, feet, lower back, and many more joints.

This is great news because so many people suffer from athletic injury – from beginners to advanced levels – for long periods.

    Well I feel sorry for Ms. Davis because I know how she feels. My wife has been on my case for a few years now to loose some weight for health reasons of course. lol. I tried jogging but it was killing my knees. So I tried a gentler and free fitness program, ended up pulling a muscle. I thought that was never going to heal. I wish I knew about this simple method before. Maybe it would not have taken so long to heal.
